2021 Racing Season

Well, 2020 was a bust. We started very late. The first few races were cancelled because of the ‘Rona. Then we were doing lead-follow instruction. No in car instruction. That kinda sucked.

Then, at High Plains, I popped a head gasket. I had to pull the engine out to fix it. With only two events left, I just didn’t have time to do that. I think I only attended two events in 2020. And then the nationals were cancelled, too. Not a good year for anybody.

So 2021 is a new year! Started out in April with good weather. Back to in-car instruction. Doing well so far.

At the last event at Pueblo Motorsports Park, I broke the differential support again. Check out the differential page for details.

I got it fixed OK, but it took some time. The car is ready for the next event at High Plains in a couple of weeks.

End of Season: We did really well this year. The car was otherwise very reliable. The only problem was the loss of one ignition coil on a Sunday afternoon. Cost me a little power, but still made pretty good time. I still have not manage to break the two minute mark at High Plains. The car is certainly capable. I’m just not good enough. Yet. I’m working on it. 😉

We had a great time! met with friends every weekend. Had some really great students. Learned a lot. Helped out where I could. SO much fun. Can’t wait for April, 22. We’re going to La Hunta (love that track).

Oh, and we took second place for the season. Not bad, considering the competition. My little car doesn’t even come close to a Porsche GT3, or a modified ‘Vette. But, you know what second place means: Out of all the losers, you’re the best. 😉
